FG orders Airlines to Install Tracking Devices

The Federal Government has mandated all Airline operators in the country to have on board, a tracking device, known as Automated Information Reporting System. This would help pilots and crew members to detect any problem that may arise during flight.

This information was disclosed yesterday by the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Harold Demuren, during the formal commencement of flight operations by Medview Airlines.

*What is your take on this? Do you think the device, if we had it before now, would have helped in averting the air mishaps of the past? Are there any factors which could hinder the device from serving its purpose/s?  Enlighten us.*
