Miss Universe 2012...A convergence of beauty, fashion and more beauty

Just to let you know that The 2012 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant was held last night in the USA at the Planet Hollywood Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. It is worthy to note that contestants in every Miss Universe Pageant cannot have been married or have children and must be younger than 27 and older than 18 by Feb. 1 of the competition year.

The battle for this year's crown was fiercely fought by 89 beauty queens from all around the world but the beauty warlord that thrashed the rest was the adorable and very charming Miss USA, who goes by the name, Olivia Culpo (that babe sure has some Latin American blood....It's all in the face....Lovely).

Miss Nigeria,

Christmas Combat...Guard yourself jealously

Hi folks, the Yuletide season is around the corner, once again. I take it for a fact that all Christians (and non-Christians alike) know what that the reason for the season is Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the occasion of His Birth.

For most non-Christians however, it is a holiday season, to be shared with family and friends; this is because it comes towards the end of the year.

Christmas generally, is a time to Thank God for His numerous gifts to us, and to share love with family, friends and the less-privileged. People travel from far and wide to be with their loved ones and to visit relatives, whom they do not see frequently. The period, being the end of the year, is also a time for conscious intro and retrospection; a time to analyse our activities and achievements for the year-ending and resolutions for the coming year. Talking about new year resolutions, we'll leave it as a discussion for another day. We also know that lots of Weddings, Anniversaries and other parties take place during this period and from all these diverse events, certain issues have evolved.

During this period, some people feel the pressure to impress people; they may have toiled throughout the year

However, instead of taking to Twitter, which spawned the now ubiquitous preface, the mother posted the announcement on Facebook, compounding her apparent #fail.
While it is not clear whether the screenshot that is clearly an official birth announcement is a joke or a literary mistake, the possibility

The singer wished her Twitter followers a happy Thanksgiving and proceeded to let everyone in her plans for the day, tweeting, “#Berlin #CarpeDiem.”

Of course, it's important to seize the day in any city, but Carpe Diem is the name of Brown's current world tour, so it's not like Rihanna was trying to hide her Turkey Day plans.

He currently has 80 goals to his name, leaving him with 5 or more to beat and/or surpass Muller's record.

Messi's staggering statistics not only put most forward players to shame, but some club sides too. Take a look at how Leo's 80 goals in 2012 stand up to other teams, strikers and rivals in the same calendar year:

Three Magical a Fourth

When something is said to be magical, it means that it has the capability of turning situations around very swiftly. In almost every aspect of human inter-relations, there are three expressions (plus a fourth one) that make or mar situations. Here they are:

  • Please: We often use this when we are begging for a favour. For example: please, can I borrow your pen? etc etc... However, is that the only circumstance that should warrant the use of the word 'please'? Most of us would say 'Yes' but I say 'No'.

Human Sexuality: Choice or Chance?

Hmmmm....this topic is one that has sparked-off widespread arguments and discussions from time immemorial.
Human Sexuality refers to the status of being homosexual (gay), heterosexual (straight) or bi-sexual. Homosexuals are men who love other men as well as women who love other women; Bi-sexuals love both men and women and a lot of people tagged as gay and lesbian are usually bi-sexual. There is also Transsexualism, which implies a condition in which an individual identifies with a gender not culturally-associated with their assigned sex. Simply put, it describes a situation whereby an individual does not like his or her natural gender and wishes to change to the opposite gender. That is, a man choosing to become a woman and vice versa. This is possible through a medical procedure called Sex Reassignment Surgery and is currently well-known in the Western world.
The practice of  homosexuality dates back to the ancient times.

Football Fanaticism in Nigeria

Fanaticism may sound harsh or extreme in describing the subject but when we consider the definition of 'Fanaticism' as given by Wikipedia, it would make better sense.
Fanaticism as described by wikipedia refers to 'a belief or behavior involving uncritical zeal, particularly for an extreme religious or political cause or in some cases sports, or with an obsessive enthusiasm for a pastime or hobby.' People involved in it are called 'Fanatics.'
Most times, in sports, especially football, we call ourselves fans but are we truly fans or fanatics?

First they really matter?

First impression matters a lot....this is a very popular saying. What it simply means is that the attitude you put up at a first meeting with an acquaintance will determine the way he or she will perceive you throughout the relationship. It also implies that the attitude you see a peron exhibit at fist meeting automatically describes his true character.

Is this notion particularly true? does it apply in all circumstances? I beg to differ a bit.

Hurrayy!!! Nigeria is Fifty-two (52) today

Here's wishing all fellow Nigerians, a very wonderful Independence Celebration.

A lot of people are apprehensive of today for different reasons but my candid advise is this: Pray for the country and wish our leaders well. Today is a public, extinguish the doubts and skepticism, take time and RELAX. There are a couple of things you could do today; for example, go to a beach/pool, go to the movies, invite friends over for lunch/dinner....or simply sit at home and watch TV, tweet, skype or blog, just like me...hehehhehe...

Happy Celebrations, y'all.

Marriage and Marry-age....Part 1

Hello Peeps,

I'd like to think that I am not the only one that has realized the tremendous, drastic changes taking place in the institution of marriage in recent times.

Now, the trend goes thus: A man gets married to a woman, 6 months or less and they are divorced or separated; Or they may still be married with each cheating on the other; Or married, not cheating but living like strangers in the same house.

This situation begs the urgent question of: why do people get married these days? Is it for the sake of enjoying the lifestyle of this institution called 'marriage' or because they 'think' they have attained the 'age of marriage'?

Help me find out, please.

hmmmmmm....what do you perceive?

But, seriously, some people need to start thinking seriously about personal hygiene. It's really embarrassing, if not appalling, to see a well-dressed and good-looking babe or dude who smells like sanitary sewage....ewwwww. That's quite gross.
And most disappointing is the fact that most times, some of such peeps make an effort to come very close to you to maybe say a word or two. Could be a guy trying to scope a babe. Or a babe feeling like she's the hottest chic' in town. And when they come close, you reach for your cologne and save the day. LOL.
Now, let's find out more about Body Odour (BO) also called Bromhidrosis, Osmidrosis and Ozochrotia. BO is simply the result of bacteria breaking down protein into certain acids and if measures are not taken, it becomes evident during puberty, that is when a female is 14-16 years of age and when a male is 15-17 years of age.
So, you see, everybody can have BO, so relax, but the difference lies in how you take care of yourself. BO can most likely be felt on the feet, groin, armpits, genitals, pubic region, belly button, genitals, anus, etc (pardon the terminologies....all join) and is triggered by sweat.
What are the measures to be taken? Regular bathing, reduction in the intake of spicy foods like garlic, wearing clothes made with natural fibres such as wool, cotton and silk, keeping the armpits and genitals super-clean by shaving and washing regularly and then, using anti-perspirants (as in, roll-on and body spray)made with Aluminium Chloride.
Please note that perfumes do not really do the work most times because when you spray them, you still sweat in your armpits and most times, the mixture of foul-smelling sweat and perfume produces an indescribable odour....not good at all. Perfumes should be an addition to your anti-perspirant.
Kindly patronize anti-perspirants/deodorants today and save your friends, your neighbours....and your enemies...yes, remember: Love your enemies and don't kill them. Lol. You could also save your romantic life. If you need names of the very-effective brands, just buzz this space...

Knock Knock! Perfect husband, please?

Back in the days, if you asked the average woman her choice of a husband, the ready answer you could hear was: Tall, dark, handsome. Some would say Tall, fair with pink lips, handsome, 6-packed.
Nowadays, the list seems to have expanded to become: Tall dark or fair with pink lips, 6-packed, drop-dead handsome, rich, connected, classy, etc etc etc. Okay, ladies!
