NYSC Food Budget said to be Grossly Inadequate

The state office of the NYSC in Akwa-Ibom state, through the state co-ordinator, Mr. Akinkunmi Martins, has pleaded with the state government to assist in feeding the 2012 Batch 'C' corps members posted to the state.

A total of 2,597 corps members posted there, comprising 1,527 males and 1,070 females. *Good to know...since the men outnumber the women, the women will have no excuse for running after officials*...Lol.

He said the cost of foodstuffs has increased due to the devastation caused by the recent flood disaster and stated that the NYSC budget for food was grossly inadequate. *Is this a call for corps members to expect the worst?*

He also hinted that most states are assisting in feeding corps members in camps and congratulated the Akwa Ibom state government for building new hostels at the camp, while also stating that they need more hostels, a multi-purpose hall and an administrative block.

Responding, Governor Akpabio promised to continue assisting in addressing the challenges facing the scheme.
